    Six Attorneys Elected Members (Partners)

    Syracuse, NY: Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce the election of six Members (Partners) to the Firm: Christa Richer Cook (Syracuse), Colin M. Leonard (Syracuse), John A. Miller (Albany), Mark A. Moldenhauer (Buffalo), Kevin M. Pole (Syracuse), and William J. Rubenstein (Syracuse).

    Ms. Richer Cook is a member of the Labor and Employment, Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, and Immigration Practice and resides in the Firm's Syracuse Office. Her areas of practice include: counseling employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including matters involving workforce reductions, workplace investigations, unemployment insurance, family and military leave, employee discipline and wage and hour issues. She represents management in collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, collective actions under the FLSA, and employment discrimination litigation in federal and state courts and before the EEOC and the Human Rights Division. Ms. Cook's practice also includes in-house labor and employment training for employers. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia (B.S., summa cum laude, 1997) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2000).

    Mr. Leonard is also a member of the Labor and Employment, Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, and Immigration Practice and resides in the Firm's Syracuse Office. He concentrates his practice in labor and employment law on behalf of public and private sector employers. He works closely with clients in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, labor arbitrations and PERB and NLRB proceedings. Mr. Leonard also represents employers involved in federal and state anti-discrimination litigation and counsels clients on a variety of employment-related issues, including wage and hour law, employment and separation agreements and employee discipline and layoff issues. He conducts in-house training for employers and regularly speaks in front of groups on various labor and employment law matters. He is a graduate of Middlebury College (B.A., with honors, 1993) and the University of Connecticut School of Law (J.D., with honors, 2001).

    Mr. Miller is a member of the School Districts Practice Group and resides in the Firm's Albany Office. He concentrates his practice in all facets of School Law. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Miller served as Associate Counsel to the New York State School Boards Association ("NYSSBA") for nine years. While at NYSSBA, he regularly advised school officials and school district attorneys on a broad spectrum of legal issues. Mr. Miller is a frequent lecturer before school affiliated groups and associations on a wide array of topics. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego (B.A., with honors, 1984) and Western New England College School of Law (J.D., 1995).

    Mr. Moldenhauer, who is a member of the Labor and Employment, Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, and Immigration Practice, resides in the Firm's Buffalo Office. He counsels employers on a broad range of matters affecting the workplace and includes litigating employment-related cases in federal and state courts, and representing employers and management before various governmental administrative agencies, including the EEOC, NYSDHR and NLRB. Mr. Moldenhauer provides employers advice and consultation on matters concerning discrimination, harassment and retaliation, medical leaves of absence, and wage and hour compliance. He also provides EEO training, policy review and assistance with all types of personnel-related issues. In addition, Mr. Moldenhauer has experience representing management in traditional labor law matters, including arbitrations, collective bargaining and union organizing campaigns. He has spoken on a variety of employment subjects, such as complying with family and medical leave laws, responding to administrative charges of discrimination, and conducting workplace investigations. He is a graduate of Hamilton College (B.A., 1997) and the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law (J.D., 2001).

    Mr. Pole is a member of the Firm's Property Practice and resides in the Firm's Syracuse Office, concentrating his practice in the areas of public finance, commercial lending and general commercial real estate. Mr. Pole has represented commercial real estate developers, landlords and tenants in the development, sale, leasing and financing of commercial property. He also has experience with the formation of condominiums and cooperatives. Mr. Pole has worked on a variety of public finance transactions, including as bond counsel on financings for municipalities, school districts, colleges, universities, libraries and public agencies, and as counsel to municipal bond underwriters in finance transactions. He regularly works with commercial lenders on construction and commercial loans, including the issuance of letters of credit in public finance transactions. He is a graduate of Niagara University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1998) and Wake Forest University School of Law (J.D., 2001).

    Mr. Rubenstein is a member of the Firm's Estate and Financial Planning Practice and resides in the Firm's Syracuse Office. Mr. Rubenstein's primary areas of practice include federal and state taxation matters for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, exempt organizations, individuals, trusts, and estates; development and implementation of sophisticated estate planning techniques for wealth preservation and transfer, succession planning, and asset protection; estate and trust administration; and Elder Law matters. Mr. Rubenstein is also an accountant who worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Dermody, Burke & Brown CPAs, LLC. He is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S., 1996) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2001).
